HEALING

Well as you can see, a lot of this website is dedicated to healing. It is my wish that you will all feel and know your ability to self heal and to help heal others. We are made perfect, and we are equipped with everything we need to live a life of peace, harmony and contentment. It's just that sometimes, along the way, we cloud ourselves with darkness such as guilt, fear and self reproach. When that happens, we need to do whatever we can to clear out these patterns of energy within us, in order to once again get to our true core self. It's important to remember that we each choose our lives - everything that is happening to us - including any illness - is our choice. With this knowledge, we can move away from blame or anger toward understanding and healing. A great way to do this is by learning (or remembering!) how to clear out these negative patterns, to achieve perfect balance within.

This book was given to me many years ago when I was 19. And I have read and re read it many many times over the years. For those people who are at the point of wanting to make changes in their life, and are looking for answers, this is an excellent book to start with. This book is incredibly easy to read, uplifting and inspiring. It teaches about the law of attraction, while giving great practical exercises you can do to clear out all patterns of behaviour. The best part is the section at the back, which lists many medical conditions/diseases, the thinking/emotional behaviour causing the physical illness, and positive affirmations to help clear the underlying belief. Every house should have a copy of this book - to me it's like a bible!

CO-DEPENDENCE, THE DANCE OF THE WOUNDED SOUL
ROBERT BURNEY.
I absolutely loved this book. Robert discusses childhood and the ingrained beliefs that we are all taught from birth. He passionately speaks about how everyone has had a dysfunctional childhood, because society as a whole is dysfunctional. We are taught to value ourselves externally, to base our opinion and feelings about ourselves on what others think of us. In short, we are taught the opposite of our real truth.This book was a real revelation to me to read, it was easy to understand, and it confirmed many of my personal beliefs, such as there being a divine plan to everything, that cannot go wrong! Difficult to summarise in such a short space - but it gave me many of those "ping" moments! Especially where it mentions our inner child - and the necessity to release all that trapped emotion from childhood that still controls us. A must read for anyone looking for answers in their life, and especially those who have had a difficult childhood, and know that they need to revisit it to understand and accept their own behaviours and emotions.

FACING MYSELF
JENNIFER BORCHERS.
Wow, I can't remember where I bought this book, but I am glad I did. It's not the kind of book that will leap out at you, (I think I am attracted to bright colours). But it is an amazing read. Again it's a book about facing and dealing with your past, your childhood. Jennifer recounts her painful upbringing in Germany, with a mother who was very emotionally distant (and downright cruel at times). She tells her life story, which is incredibly interesting, and also all the different healing techniques that have helped her, and the truths that she uncovered about herself. If you like reading real life stories, of people overcoming their painful pasts, you'll love this. Very uplifting.

HOW MY DEATH SAVED MY LIFE
DENISE LINN.
I love Denise Linn books. She speaks so honestly about her own personal experiences, and with such positivity. This book is an account of her life growing up in a difficult situation (her mother had a mental illness which was essentially undiagnosed). Things changed radically for her one day while she was out on her motorbike at the age of 17. She was shot and left for dead by a deranged murderer. While being worked on in hospital, she actually "died" and went to a beautiful golden place where all that existed was love. From that moment on her life changed. While her years to come were full of much pain and hurt, it was the memory of that place which carried her through, and led her to experience the most amazing events. This really is a book of hope, and absolutely compelling reading, especially for those people who have relationship difficulties with their own mothers. A real insight into destiny and how even seemingly insignificant events play a major part in our lives.

SPIRIT MEDICINE
HANK WESSELMAN AND JILL KUYKENDALL.
A really great little book if you are interested in healing and specifically Shamanic healing. Hank and Jill write different chapters of this book (they are husband and wife), and there is a CD enclosed of shamanic drumming (I love meditating to shamanic drumming). There is lots of really interesting information on healing work in there, pertaining especially to the Hawaiin Kahuna tradition of healing which involves your soul cluster or soul family. There are meditations in the book, and lots of great information. A piece that sticks clearly in my mind is Jill talking about an old spiritual healer in Hawaii stating that cancer requires an acidic environment in the body in which to survive, so a diet that is more alkaline will eradicate it. Interesting stuff.

HEALING WITH FORM, ENERGY AND LIGHT
TENZIN WANGYAL RINPOCHE.
I'm still reading through this but wow! I have based a lot of the Pure Samtosha candle on the elements that are mentioned in this book (and didnt realise until I started reading it!) Really fascinating, and so informative about how you need to have the five different elements balanced within your body to achieve optimum health.

MEDICINE OF LIGHT
AMARANANDA BHAIRAVAN
Have started reading this, so will post comments when I finish. It seems quite interesting, a very "shamanic" view of healing. So for those people really interested in Shamanism, you would enjoy this book. Not for everyone - the first bit I have read talks about the "bad or evil" spirits trying to take the spirit from a sick woman. Quite deep, you need to suspend your western beliefs of what is possible to read and enjoy this book I think.

THE ROAD LESS TRAVELLED
M. SCOTT PECK
I read a lot of this but confess I haven't finished reading it yet. I enjoyed it, yet it wasn't one of the real uplifting books that I really like. It talks about healing certainly, and gives great ideas on what you can do to bring about changes in your life and real healing. He makes some interesting points about giving up things to get something better. For example he had to let go of his desire to win, which had been ingrained in him, to improve his relationships. The other point I remember is that he speaks about us as human beings, always trying to avoid pain. We have been taught to fear pain, (emotionally especially) and so we do anything to avoid it. He says, to basically look at it in a different way - put off your need to feel good straight away and face the pain, in order to get to a much better place. That really spoke to me. I think there is a lot to get out of this book.

WATER CRYSTAL ORACLE - CARDS
DR MASARU EMOTO
I first heard about the work Dr Emoto had done through the DVD "What the bleep do we know?" It's really fascinating information about how, when exposed to different words or images, water forms amazing crystals. The difference between when water was exposed to a word such as love (where it would form a perfect, beautiful crystal) to when it was exposed to words such as I hate you (where it formed ugly swirls) was amazing. If you can find a book on this work I would thoroughly recommend it. These cards have different words on them that you can use as oracles or, as I do, put your drinking water jug onto different words to create more energised, healing water.
